Testing watercolors

One of the most important things I do in the office is test product. We are constantly comparing our products to our competitors products to see how well we perform compared to theirs. Today we had a new brand of watercolors come in which will remain nameless.  So we did a quick test to see how it compared, for the sake of confidentiality, I won’t disclose our findings but overall I enjoyed testing products. I get to learn a lot about the colors and how they work. I am not as familiar with watercolors as I am with acrylics and oils so it was a great experience for me to learn its characteristics and how it really works.

I’ve learned a lot about how the Winsor & Newton watercolors work and how to generate certain effects with the paint. They make a phenomenal watercolor line that is considered one of the best in the world. Check out this masstone and undertone chart I made today with some of the Winsor & Newton blues in the watercolor line
